BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid pentadecapeptide derived from a human gastric protein, studied preclinically for tissue repair, gut protection, and angiogenesis.

Titration
Reported approaches vary; community protocols often begin at the lower end (~200-250 mcg) and may divide the daily amount into morning and evening doses, with cycles typically lasting 4-8 weeks. No validated human titration schedule exists.
Reconstitution
Lyophilized powder typically reconstituted with bacteriostatic water; commonly reported at roughly 1-2 mg peptide per mL. Add diluent slowly down the vial wall, swirl gently (do not shake) until dissolved.
Injection sites
Subcutaneous (commonly into abdominal fat) or intramuscular; community protocols often place the injection near the target/injured area. Oral and intranasal formulations are also discussed in research.
Storage & handling
Lyophilized powder stored refrigerated (2-8 C) or frozen for long-term; keep away from light. Once reconstituted, refrigerate (2-8 C) and use within a few weeks.

Research summary
BPC-157 is a stable synthetic fragment of body protection compound, a protein found in human gastric juice. The preclinical evidence base is extensive: rodent and other animal studies report accelerated healing of tendon, ligament, muscle, bone, and gastrointestinal tissue, even under compromised conditions, alongside protection against NSAID- and alcohol-induced GI damage. Proposed mechanisms center on the nitric oxide (Akt–eNOS) system and pro-angiogenic VEGFR2 activation, with additional ERK1/2 signaling, fibroblast and endothelial activity, anti-inflammatory effects, and modulation of dopamine/serotonin pathways. Human evidence, however, is extremely limited — only a handful of small pilot studies (e.g., intra-articular knee pain, interstitial cystitis, and an IV safety/pharmacokinetic study), mostly without control groups and with small sample sizes. Pharmacokinetic work in rats and dogs shows rapid metabolism to small peptide fragments and amino acids, with an elimination half-life under 30 minutes and excretion mainly via urine and bile. Reported safety in the available trials and animal toxicology has been generally favorable, but theoretical concerns include pathologic angiogenesis, nitric-oxide overproduction, immunogenicity, and altered drug metabolism. BPC-157 is not FDA-approved, was placed by the FDA on its 503A Category 2 list (bulk drug substances with significant safety risk) in 2023, and is prohibited by WADA under the non-approved-substances class (S0); reviewers consistently conclude it remains investigational pending well-designed human trials.
