Research summary

PTD-DBM is a synthetic peptide that links a protein-transduction domain to a Dishevelled-binding motif, blocking CXXC5's negative regulation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling. In mouse studies, topical PTD-DBM induced hair regrowth and wound-induced hair-follicle neogenesis, and combination with valproic acid outperformed minoxidil in those models. Evidence is preclinical (rodent/in vitro); human efficacy and safety are not established, and it is not an approved drug. Educational only — not medical advice.
